(What a) Year in Review
We’re now into the final days of 2020 and, while it’s been an extremely challenging year, it’s also worth reflecting on the wins, highlights and growth that our team experienced.
We started the year strong with Victoria joining our team. This ray of sunshine came in and made a huge difference that was felt by everyone. The lovely Shea has been focussing on her education, so finding the right fit for this essential role was tricky, but Victoria has proven herself to be an integral member of the team.
Shea is wrapping up school this month and will be joining us as a junior stylist in 2021—we can’t wait to share her journey with you!
The one day that stands out above all the rest is March 17, when we were forced to close our doors because of the pandemic. Of course, there were many dark moments, despite the support we received from all of you, but in many ways those 3½ months were incredible.
Our entire team has levelled up and is excited for what we can accomplish once restrictions are lifted. We’re confident that this pandemic will soon be turning a corner and when that happens, we’ll be stronger than ever.
All of us at Salon Wisp have focussed on professional and personal development this year. Renee, Britney and Chloe all took an expert mixology class that upped their colour game, spending four days training with an industry expert who had more experience than they’d ever encountered.
Britney furthered her Natural Beaded Row (NBR) training, taking her skills to the next level, while Renee also got certified in NBR. Stephanie had a difficult time navigating the postponement of her wedding and she’s done a fantastic job maintaining her positive outlook.
Victoria has been working alongside Renee for one-on-one training and we’re all amazed by her progress. Although Victoria’s services are currently 20% off, that won’t last much longer because her development has been so incredible.
Peta-Gay has been a superstar behind the scenes as we’ve implemented massive changes, including online booking and shopping, working with deposits, and dealing with clients from cities in lockdown. She continues to handle every imaginable scenario with grace and ease.
We are so proud of how all of us are weathering this storm together. Without everyone’s support, we wouldn’t have been able to stay as connected as we did, setting ourselves up for a successful return. You can feel the strength of our community’s connection and the sense of responsibility we feel for each other.
2020 is the year that we learned what really matters. We learned that when things get hard, we can do hard things. And we learned that we are stronger together than alone.
Thank you for your continued patience, support and patronage—we are so grateful.
